With over 10 years in hospitality and a passion for creating something of his own, Harjit opened Ms Matildas to bring great food and warm service to the community.


Tell us a little about your business and what inspired you to start it

“I’ve worked in hospitality for the last 10 years, and I wanted to do something on my own. Ms Matildas is all about coffee, tea, cakes, breakfast, and lunch—a place where people can relax and enjoy good food.”


What’s popular in-store right now?

“Our breakfast menu is a big hit—especially the Big Breaky! Customers love starting their day with a hearty meal.”


How long have you been here, and what do you enjoy most?

“I’ve been here for two years, and the best part is meeting our regular customers every day. It’s those connections that make this job special.”


What makes Ms Matildas unique?

“We offer creative menu ideas at fair prices, and we’re always looking for ways to make the experience memorable.”


Any hobbies or interests outside of work?

“I love following a healthy lifestyle, spending time with my family, and keeping things simple.”


Do you have regular customers you know by name?

“Yes! We have quite a few—Lynn, Bob, David, and many more. It’s always nice to have a chat and catch up.”


Funniest or most memorable customer request?

“The funniest was someone asking for a boiling hot long black—made even hotter! The most memorable was creating a heart-shaped coffee for a customer’s anniversary.”

“The community feel, friendly staff, and supportive management make it a fantastic place to be.”


Favourite time of year?

Christmas! The decorations, cheerful customers, and busy atmosphere make it feel extra special.”
